Ami Landry is starting high school when popular girls act mean to her. She doesn't need more worries. Her best friend stops talking to her, and her loving dad has a drinking problem. Ami's afraid when a man who's a hottie shows up. Her mom met him in a chatroom. Ami's terrified of what her mom might do and must get her dad straightened up to compete without telling him what's going on. She'll have to make him a hottie, too. His drinking will prove harder. What's a girl to do when her hormones go berserk and her family and friendships all fall apart?

Note to the Reader: Getting older doesn't mean we have to stop having fun or forget about our dreams. I wanted to write since childhood but didn't start until I was widowed with five children. I sold small pieces and became a teacher and enjoyed my growing children. Much later, I started working on novels and finally sold one. By then I had become a grandmother —but I did it! My grandchildren and children are proud.

June_Shaw I'm having fun writing new books and playing with my large family and friends, including my Red Hat Society ladies. I don't spend much time in the kitchen anymore since I need to travel to the next place where Cealie will get in trouble.

Inspiration for my feisty protagonist comes from my squeeze Bob, who says or does almost anything. (See Photo Gallery) More inspiration comes from my mom. You can see her in my Photo Gallery at our line dance class. That picture and an article appeared in many newspapers and caused a producer from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to invite us on the program. We declined since Mom would have trouble with the trip. Instead, she said to invite Jay here. I wrote the letter. We're waiting.

I am so fortunate to have such a loving family and group of friends. I treasure every one —and you — for reading about my works. Thanks for dropping by. Please come back often for more exciting news.

(Note: My mother passed away, dancing almost to the end. She was
102 ½ and a great role model, living life to the fullest. I am blessed.)
